Data-deletion instructions

Send a deletion request

1. Email [email protected] with the subject “Data deletion request.”
2. Tell us whether your request concerns email correspondence, Facebook, Instagram, Threads, Pinterest or another interaction with We Are One. Include the relevant email address, profile username or Page URL and describe the information you want removed.
3. We will review the request, verify your connection to the data when necessary and respond with the outcome or any information needed to complete it. Never send us your password or an access token.

Disconnect the publishing app

If you authorized We Are One Publishing, open your Facebook settings, find Business integrations or Apps and websites, and remove We Are One Publishing where it is listed. Meta’s settings labels may vary by account. You can also ask us to disconnect the integration.

For We Are One Threads, use the Website permissions link provided in the app invitation or your Threads settings to manage the app’s access. You can also email us your Threads username to request disconnection and deletion of saved credentials and identifying publishing records, subject to the retention considerations below.

For the Pinterest integration, include your Pinterest username in your request. We can disconnect the tool and remove the associated saved authorization credentials and account records, subject to the retention considerations below. Never include your Pinterest password or access token in the request.

Disconnecting stops future authorized access through that connection. To request deletion of associated credentials, account information and identifying records held by us, send the email request above. We will explain any records that must be retained for legal or security reasons. Copies in backups may remain until those backups are replaced or removed.

Content already on social platforms

Removing app access does not remove existing posts or delete your Facebook, Instagram, Threads or Pinterest account. Use the platform’s own controls for content you manage. If your request concerns personal information in a We Are One post, include the post’s link in your email so we can identify and review it. Meta and Pinterest control retention in their own systems, including Pinterest Sandbox content.

Clear your reading library

Saved stories are stored in your browser. Remove them with the bookmark buttons or clear site data for weareonemag.com in your browser settings. We cannot clear local storage on your device remotely.
